NS BLUESCOPE VIETNAM JOINS HANDS TO LIFTING VIETNAM’S INDUSTRIAL ARCHITECTURE STANDARD WITH THE VIETNAM INDUSTRIAL ARCHITECTURE AWARD 2024

Ho Chi Minh City, May 6, 2024 – Organized in collaboration between NS BlueScope Vietnam and the University of Architecture Ho Chi Minh City, proudly announces the launch of the Vietnam Industrial Architecture Award. This award aims to inspire innovative design and celebrate the beauty of industrial architecture while promoting sustainable development.

The synergy between BlueScope, with its global expertise in steel materials and solutions, and the University of Architecture Ho Chi Minh City, a prestigious institution renowned for its contributions to architectural education nationwide, promises to create a groundbreaking platform that enriches the field of industrial architecture.

This initiative not only showcases aesthetically and functionally exemplary industrial projects using durable, high-quality steel materials but also honors outstanding industrial architectural projects in Vietnam that incorporate BlueScope materials and solutions. The award seeks to find ambassadors who will lead and inspire sustainable industrial design.

According to the Organizing Committee, the award will be presented to the design consulting companies for completed industrial projects in Vietnam that utilize COLORBOND®, and/or ZINCALUME® materials, with the project owner’s consent for the submission. Evaluated criteria include 50% for innovative, modern, and humane design; 30% for creative use of steel materials showcasing the functional and aesthetic qualities of the project; and 20% for sustainability, focusing on environmentally friendly and cost-effective designs.

Entries for the Industrial Architecture Award 2024 will open from May 2024 to August 16, 2024, with the awards ceremony scheduled for September 2024. Participants are encouraged to submit multiple entries without limit.

Nine judges, including Professors, Doctors, Architects, Directors, and Experts from BlueScope, the University of Architecture Ho Chi Minh City, the Ho Chi Minh City Architects Association, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Planning and Architecture, and the Green Building Consultant, will evaluate the entries. The awards include one First prize, two Second prizes, three Third prizes, and a Special prize for long-lasting beauty (have been put into use before 2014). The total value of the prizes exceeds VND 200,000,000.

It could be said that this is the largest industrial design arena in the region, mobilizing significant resources and expanding nationwide, serving as a launching pad for design consulting companies to reach regional and international prominence.

The winner will represent Vietnam to participate in the BlueScope ASEAN Steel Architecture Award, scheduled for November 2024. This event offers training with top industry experts and opportunities for cross-Asia networking in industrial architecture, paving the way for participants to become global influencers in industrial architectural design.
