This terminal is one of the main gates welcoming international visitors to Indonesia’s capital. Located on the northeast side of the airport, it has a capacity of 25 million passengers per year, more than half of the total capacity of Soekarno-Hatta airport. It was opened in August 2016 for domestic flights, followed by international flights in May 2017. It was named as the best airport terminal in Indonesia at the ninth Bandara Awards initiated by Majalah Bandara.
Built with 28 gates, more than 200 check-in counters, and 59 aerobridges, the terminal also includes four-star hotels, meeting rooms, duty-free shops, retail outlets, restaurants, and multi-story car parks.
Different from terminal 1 and 2 designs which incorporate local architecture, the terminal 3 building designed by Woodhead has a contemporary design with an underlying message of national unity and cultural diversity.
LYSAGHT® KLIP-LOK® OPTIMA profile was chosen for its capability to build the shape of the slightly curved roof, covering 380,000 sqm of the main building area from end to end. The large effective width of the profile also offers advantages in allowing the speed of installation. LYSAGHT® Mobile roll forming process provides the benefit where an extra long length of roofing sheets can be produced and reduce the need for end-lapping and risk of water leakage.
The LYSAGHT® KLIP-LOK® OPTIMA profile for terminal 3 was manufactured from COLORBOND® steel in Gull Grey color, with Thermatech technology which allows the material to have higher SRI than other materials with a similar color. The roof is insulated to achieve thermal and noise reduction from the roof, contributing to the overall comfort and performance of the terminal building.
