LYSAGHT^® FLEX-LOK^®

The stadium is the new pride of Jakarta. The construction was completed at the end of 2021 after delayed due to impact from the pandemic. It has three-tiered stands with a total capacity of 82,000 spectators. With a total height of 73 meters tall, it is one of the tallest sports-stadium in the world and is included in the 10 grandest stadiums in the world, based on The Daily Mail report on 20 February 2021.

The development of JIS follows the green building concept. It is one of few buildings that have achieved the highest standards for environmental building, which is Platinum Level in Design Recognition.

LYSAGHT® FLEX-LOK® profiles were chosen as the roof cover, surrounding the retractable roof at the center. The high-ribbed profile allows the roof to have better rainwater drainage, especially for roof design with low roof pitch.

One of the challenges for this project is the material required for the roof cover, which is aluminum based. It provides better durability against corrosion, suitable for projects located in areas with high-risk of corrosion.

COLORBOND® XRA was chosen to manufacture the LYSAGHT® FLEX-LOK® profile for JIS. The color choice is Off-White, with a high SRI level, contributing to the building’s roof thermal reduction performance.

To achieve the best performance of the large roof area, the roof sheets are produced in extra long sizes. LYSAGHT® mobile manufacturing process was chosen to make the 60 meters long sheets and allow the roof to be covered without the need for end-lapping and further reduce the risk of water leakage in the stadium.
