LYSAGHT^® FLEX-LOK^®

NS BlueScope Lysaght Indonesia was appointed to supply roof cover for PT Jaya Real Property’s Bintaro Jaya Xchange Mall. Completed in 2013, the development features a mix of office blocks, condominiums, prime hotels and a shopping centre.

We are proud to be part of building the Bintaro Jaya Xchange Mall as it’s one of the earliest projects in Indonesia that promotes an Ecology Community concept. This concept encourages an environmental-friendly lifestyle among the Bintaro Jaya community. NS BlueScope Lysaght is also fully-supportive of the eco-conscious efforts made into constructing the development.

The Architecture

The mall’s design was inspired by water passage flowing through ice and canyon rocks.

One of the design highlights is the central plaza area, which features a three-foot-tall waterfall cascading down a glass wall over a ceiling of starlight. The waterfall feature flows through the mall and ends at a “frozen pond” where the largest ice rink in Indonesia is located.

As the green vision of the Bintaro Jaya Xchange Mall was crucial to the developers, Lysaght’s technology and high-durability products can help make this vision into a reality.

The mall was the first project in Indonesia to use our LYSAGHT^® FLEX-LOK^® profile. It was a success as our team managed to complete the task in approximately 1 month from production to installation.

Combining the LYSAGHT^® FLEX-LOK^® profile with COLORBOND^® steel roofing provides better solar reflectivity and lower thermal mass. The architects have also utilised clerestory windows to reduce heat intake as well. As a result, the combination of materials lowers the efforts required in keeping the building cool.

We also fulfilled the structure’s challenging requirements in forming a curved roof shape, delivering state-of-the-art quality roofing solutions for Bintaro Jaya Xchange Mall.

LYSAGHT^® FLEX-LOK^®

To address architectural limitations, the LYSAGHT^® FLEX-LOK^® was chosen as its concealed standing seam roof system can be rolled into a straight sheet, a convex-curved sheet or a tapered sheet to form the mall's roof design. For better flexibility and installation accuracy, the product can be rolled on-site with our mobile roll-forming technology.

The concealed system also does not require piercing fasteners, providing good water tightness and resistance to wind uplift. Pairing this product with our COLORBOND^® steel offers cooling comfort, lowering the energy consumption of the mall.
